A: On PloomSocial, you can choose to start either a “Campaign” or a “Story,” depending on your fundraising goals and how you wish to engage with your community. Here’s how each option works:

Campaigns:

Purpose: Campaigns are for raising money for a specific cause or project with a defined financial goal and timeline.

Components: Each campaign should clearly state what you are raising money for, the total amount needed, and the deadline for raising these funds.

Updates: As a campaign progresses, you should post regular updates to share how close you are to reaching your goal and how the funds are being used.

Stories:

Purpose: Stories allow you to share ongoing content about the good work you are doing, without a specific fundraising target or timeline.

Engagement: This is a more open-ended approach where you can continuously post updates about your activities that benefit the community or those in need.

Donations: While there is no fixed goal, viewers can still choose to donate to support your efforts. These donations can be made anytime, as stories do not have a set end date.

Sharing: Encourage viewers to share your stories widely to increase awareness and support for your cause.

By understanding the distinctions between Campaigns and Stories, you can better decide which format suits your needs and how to effectively engage with your community on PloomSocial.

Edit Your Profile

Update your profile information to let your community know more about you

Create a compelling and creative campaign with episodic  videos and photos to tell your story to your community

Fundraiser

  • Tap at the bottom center of the feed. Choose ~ Fundraiser. 
  • Upload [ To: Cloud upload Icon ] your video, photo, or film your video directly from the platform.  
  • Add a campaign title  [ To: Pencil  Icon ] The title should reflect your cause.
  • Add a description of your campaign  [ To: Pencil Icon ] here you describe who you are, specifics of your cause, and where the donations are going to help.
  • Add your goal [ To: $ Icon ] The donors will see your goal and can follow your video and fundraising milestones.
  • Add your raise end date: Tap the calendar  [ To: Calendar Icon ] choose a timeline that is specific to your campaign funding needs.
  • Tap Post Raise
  • SHARE – SHARE – SHARE

“If this is your first campaign we will need to confirm your identity.  All subsequent campaigns will skip this step”

  • Identity Check [ To: Check Mark Icon ]
  • Save your campaign as a draft, then continue.
  • Confirm your contact information.
  • Enter your address.
  • Enter your Social Security or EIN number.
  • Enter your date of birth

  • Do everything from above except…
  • NO need for a GOAL [ To: $ Icon ] in a story you are sharing all of the good contributions you do for your community.  Your community can follow you and choose to donate because your compelling, entertaining, giving, and much more.
  • No need for an End Date [ To: Calendar Icon ] this is your story, no need for it to end, keep your community engaged and take your donation gifts as you go.
